Comparative Analysis of Performance Factors between Ladies Professional Golf Association and Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association Golfers
This study aimed to analyze the performance factors of both Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) players and suggest which performance factors they should improve to play in world-level games. Data from 180 LPGA and KLPGA players who ranked within the top 60 in prize money rankings from 2018 to 2020 were analyzed. Then, the data from LPGA and KLPGA golfers were compared using the seemingly unrelated estimation method. As a result of analyzing 178 data, excluding two players who had missing values, this study found that among LPGA player data, putting average (PA), sand save (SS), green in regulation (GIR), and birdies (BIR) had a significant impact in 2018. Additionally, scoring average (SA) and top-10 finish (T10) had a significant impact in 2019. However, there were no factors influencing performance in 2020.From the results of analyzing 180 players who ranked within the top 60 in KLPGA prize money rankings, there were no performance factors that significantly affected their performance in 2018. However, driver distance (DD) in 2019 and DD and T10 in 2020 affected performance. In conclusion, short games were the most important factor on the LPGA Tour, and driving distance was the most important trend on the KLPGA Tour. Therefore, KLPGA golfers should train in abilities such as putting and ironshots.

376 Pilot evaluation of risk assessment and enhanced protocols regarding contacts at an international professional golf event
BackgroundFollowing conversations with the International Chief Medical Officer Group for Sport, the World Health Organisation Mass Gatherings team, and host public health teams, a risk assessment and managed risk approach was piloted for professional golf at the Gran Canaria Lopesan Open 17th to 25th April 2021.ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to assess if a risk-assessed approach to contact tracing was practical to undertake at a major sporting event while also enabling a safe environment for those participating.DesignProspective cohort studySettingProfessional golf event.Patients (or Participants)Attendees of event.Interventions (or Assessment of Risk Factors)All participants required a minimum of one negative RT-PCR test prior to travelling to each tournament. High risk contacts were isolated for 10 days. Moderate risk contacts received education regarding enhanced medical surveillance, had daily rapid antigen testing for 5 days, with RT-PCR day 5, mandated mask use, and access to outside space for work purposes only. Low risk contacts received rapid antigen testing every 48 hours and PCR testing on day 5.Main Outcome MeasurementsRT-PCR positive test.ResultsA total of 550 persons were accredited and were required to undergo RT-PCR testing before the event. Two of these tests were positive (0.36%). Of these, Case 1 had one high, 23 moderate, and 48 low risk contacts. Case 2 did not have any significant travel history within 2 days of positive test, and had one high risk contact. There were no further positive tests on site in the wider cohort of attendees, from a total of 872 RT-PCR and 198 rapid antigen tests.ConclusionsThis pilot study showed it is practical, feasible, and well accepted to provide enhanced (daily) virus testing and risk-mitigating measures at a professional golf event.
Here’s why U.S. senators will be grilling golf executives
Lawmakers like Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) want to talk to those responsible for the partnership deal between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Arabia backed LIV Golf tour.
267 A systematic review of musculoskeletal injuries in professional golfers
BackgroundThe distribution of professional golfing injuries is poorly understood.ObjectiveThe aim of the study was to perform a systematic review to describe the epidemiology of musculoskeletal injuries in professional golfers.DesignA systematic review using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. The databases used were Pubmed, SportDiscus and Embase. The inclusion criteria was published observational research articles relating to the incidence or prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in professional golfers, which were written in the English language and not restricted by age or gender.SettingProfessional golf.Main Outcome MeasurementsData collected included age, sex, data collection methods, diagnosis, region of injury, side of injury, incidence/prevalence of injury, definition of injury, nature of injury, severity of injury, mechanism of injury, risk factors, length of golfing career, injury management and time to return to sport.ResultsOf the 1863 studies identified on the initial search, five studies were found to satisfy the inclusion criteria for analysis. The mean age of the golfers in these studies was 34.8 (± 3.6) years. The gender of patients in included studies compromised 72% males and 28% females. Four studies reported that lumbar spine injuries were the most common (range 22–34%). Excluding injuries to the spine (lumbar, thoracic and cervical), the hand/wrist was the next most common region of injury (range 6–37%). The quality of the studies was relatively poor with no study satisfying >50% of the quality assessment tool questions and only one study giving a clear definition of how they defined injury.ConclusionsThere is a paucity of well-designed epidemiological studies evaluating musculoskeletal injuries affecting professional golfers. Injuries to the spine are the most frequently affected region, followed by the hand/wrist. This study has identified targeted areas of future research that aims to improve the management of injuries among professional golfers.
The Case for Mentorship
The Rewards Setting up a mentoring program inside a company is not a major challenge or expense. Some minimal training and support for those who are actively mentoring is a good idea, as well as a matching process that prevents conflicts of interest and manipulation. Significant wisdom and experience can be found in the executive ranks of most companies, and mentoring is a powerful way to tap that capacity for the development and retention of your valuable younger executives.
